Drought for Rational Thought
July 25, 2008Okay, I’ve lazed about just long enough. And it doesn’t help that the summer season here goes for as long as nine straight months. Apparently, July is the one month of the year in which this country is closest to the sun. For someone who grew up in a wet tropical country, being exposed to 13 hours a day of scorching heat literally makes him a fish out of water. It goes without saying that I’m sorely missing the rain.

View outside my window. I wish I was kidding.
To make matters worse, our Mid-East Asian friends’ normal bodily functions - such as perspiration - are amplified exponentially due to the intense heat, resulting to dissipating odor which can only be compared to that of a steaming hot curry salsa poured inside a work shoe.
“But Steel, you attractive nuclear disaster of sexy! Isn’t this the perfect time to hit the beach?”
Unfortunately, the water here will give you scabies and skin cancer instead of nice tan lines. Possibly fleas if you’re lucky.
